The Mindset of Simplicity

When you think of simplifying, do you think of what to simplify or why you are simplifying? I wish more of us, including myself, observed the latter more often than the former. Enter Inside-Out Simplicity.

Simplicity brings freedom from the all-consuming passion to possess.  – Joshua Becker

I wish there was an enlightening moment that I could emphasize. Like the time I stepped foot into Sydney Harbor and my life changed forever. Unfortunately, simplicity has been a process and finding the proper mindset has been the key. However, that mindset would have never been found if it were not for the physical and mental challenges I placed upon myself.

Enter a more simplistic life isn’t about ridding everything from it. It is a matter of eliminating that which clutters the mind from true freedom.

As many of you enter the wondrous world of simplicity, you may go days-weeks-months without truly finding inner peace. The reason…a lack of focus on the simplistic mindset.

The mindset is the key to simplicity. I am working on my own project to develop a stronger mindset because it is so important to developing the lifestyle you intend when addressing the act of simplicity.

How we think, feel, act, react dictates how we view our lives. Sure, stuff has an impact on life in a way, but the mindset is the thing that needs to be clear to find the true desired self.

I have come to realize that the mindset of competition is based on a faulty premise. It assumes there is a finite sized pie – that one more success in another‘s life equals one less success in mine. But quite frankly, this thinking is incorrect. The size of the pie is not finite.

- Joshua Becker

Joshua Becker is the quaint Buddha that lives in modern America. He found his focus through minimalist acts and develop a lifestyle that not only he, but his family as well, is able to maintain clarity and drive to live a life of meaning and not confusion.

The reason I suggest Inside-Out Simplicity is because it doesn’t focus on stuff. Does it mention removing the physical possessions we have all acquired? Yes, but it doesn’t focus on that. Inside-Out Simplicity focuses on building the relationships with others and ourselves that we choose and are not forced to live. The relationship and bond that we have with life itself is far more important than the aspect of clearing the junk from the garage. In the end, that is most of goals when we bring simplicity into our lives.

If you are looking for a lifestyle of meaning based on relationships with life rather than with the possessions of life, I strongly suggest you check out Inside-Out Simplicity.
