Over the last few weeks, my life has taken a drastic change. Whenever change is present, there is a tendency to let the chaos overtake your progress, success and/or happiness. When these times come to light, I turn to simplicity to find the peace again.
About 3 weeks ago, my girlfriend and I moved into our own apartment, I went back to a great company I worked for before heading to Australia, and I found a new life of progress towards the goals I have established. With the new-found path, I said goodbye to the 12 hour days working for myself, the procrastination that comes with freedom, and, generally speaking, the lack of motivation to truly move forward.
With all of the success I have had online in building a wonderful community and developing streams of income via the internet, I also saw the things I preached against creeping into my daily life. I wish I could say I was strong enough to ward off these habits, but they remained present through much of my success.
As we have gone through this huge transitional phase over the last month or so, I have come to realize that I need to be even more proactive in finding my success. Though I feel I have accomplished a lot, I have a long way to go to meet my true potential.
The craziness of starting back at a 9-5 and trying to settle into our apartment has led to the stepping back from my online commitments. Unfortunately, I have probably been too erratic of a leader of you great people lately. I miss that and that is why I decided to reflect on my actions.
Over the last few days, I have come to the realization that I want to do so much, but need to focus on the basics that have got me here and grow from there. TV, happy hours and general laziness have not been the reason for my success so recognize their grasp on me daily is important to confront.
To find my success and my suggestion for you to find yours is to find peace in simplicity.
As I have wrote here at TMP for quite some time about the power of simplicity, you probably realize that this is obvious. True, but it is easy to fall into poor habits. To combat the poor habits, we must critique our actions and follow a developed path.
The craziness of the last month has made simplicity in all that I do more important than ever. Through simplicity, a peaceful life we all can live.
