We travel many roads in life. Some are challenging, some are exhilarating, and others are life changing. There are forks in the road that, through our thought process’ and decision making, guide us down paths that are sometimes the incorrect ones and other times the correct. One of the correct paths I have chosen for my life is that of minimalism.
The minimalist path is one that focuses on the necessary and desired aspects of life. This path meanders through the world of clutter that has captured the mindset of many people around us. With focus based on minimalism, we can eliminate all the unnecessary stuff that tends to work its way into our lives.
The minimalist path has been a major influence in my life for about four years now. I have developed my own methods while being highly influenced by others (See Blogroll) who have also chosen the minimalist path. There is no exact path that needs to be followed. We all choose our own lifestyle and implementing minimalism will effect our lives differently. Through these effects, we are able to live a simpler lifestyle that enables us to do what we truly love.
The minimalist path is not widely accepted today. The amounts of stuff that people have accumulated through the years has become a burden on their opportunities, yet realizing the reason for the burden has been tough to grasp for millions. Minimalism is looked at as different and unfortunate in many ways. It is a different path than most tend to follow, but unfortunate it is not. Choosing what is necessary in one’s life is critical to experiencing all that is wanted out of life. By consuming, we tend not to be living. Despite this desire by society to shun the minimalist path, I think this way is extremely helpful to achieving one’s goals.
Making minimalism a major part of your path through life can be difficult. But once the premise is ingrained in you, the opportunities to live life to its fullest potential are positively life changing.
